Less than half of German companies have high-speed internet
According to the latest figures from the Federal Statistical Office, only 42% of local businesses had a broadband connection with a speed of at least 30 Mbit/s in 2017. This represents an increase of just four percentage points compared to the previous year. Germany thus ranks only in the middle of the pack in Europe.
A study by the FTTH Council—an industry organization focused on “Fiber-to-the-Home” (FTTH)—also shows that Germany lags far behind other countries in terms of fiber-optic connections in households.
Yet fast internet and location-based connectivity are indispensable in the context of digitalization, a trend that companies across all industries are grappling with today.
But what can you do if “traditional” solutions don’t work here?

Increase Bandwidth with SD-WAN
Corporate lines offer dedicated bandwidth, which often comes at a high cost. In addition,
the requirements that companies have for an internet connection and a corporate WAN are constantly changing.
One solution that is particularly well-suited for companies with multiple branch offices is SD-WAN.
This software-based solution provides bandwidth expansion and enhances performance, stability, and reliability. Multiple Internet connections available at the site (DSL, LTE, fiber optic, cable, MPLS, etc.) are used in parallel, thereby increasing the available bandwidth.
